Has Rachel Stevens ditched sequins for spells?

Rumour has it the Strictly star is in talks about a role in hit BBC show Merlin.

The former S Club 7 singer has impressed the producers with her fancy footwork and is potentially being lined up for a role in the second series of the show.

It's no secret that she wants to kick start her acting career, especially as her move to Hollywood in 2005 was a flop when she failed to secure any major parts.

An impressive six million people regularly tuned in to watch fantasy drama Merlin, which currently stars Anthony Head, ex-Eastender Michelle Ryan, and Colin Morgan as the wizard himself.

A show insider told The Sun: "The next series of Merlin will be even better than the first."

Filming begins later this year.
