When you picture Aspen, Colorado, in the winter, a serene ski slope of Hollywood A-listers comes to mind. But if you are Charlie Sheen, you are in a much less posh "resort": Pitkin County Jail.
On Christmas Day, emergency personnel responded to a 911 call from a female at the ski resort who reported that Sheen had been violent toward her, including a knife threat. The caller is alleged to have been Sheen's wife since May 2008, Brooke Mueller Sheen. However, she reportedly recanted her statement later, saying that she had been drunk at the time of the 911 call.
Sheen was booked for investigation of two felonies and one misdemeanor and was released after posting $8,500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 8.
This wasn't Charlie Sheen's first run-in with the law involving poor treatment of women. Sheen's divorce and custody battle with second wife Denise Richards has been well publicized, including a 2005 restraining order against Sheen. Sheen had married Donna Peele in 1995, and within two months a UCLA student sued him for hitting her on the back of the head for denying him sex the previous year. In the mid-1990s, Sheen was arrested for battery against a girlfriend. Many of us remember the 1990 incident where Sheen 'accidentally' shot then-fiancée Kelly Preston in the arm.
