Showtime's new comedy The Big C delivered the cable channel's most-watched series premiere in eight years.
The half-hour series, starring Laura Linney as a woman with terminal cancer, drew 1.15 million viewers Monday at 10:30/9:30c, according to the network. Counting the viewership for an 11:30/10:30c. repeat, the episode drew 1.58 million viewers.
The Big C got a boost from the sixth season premiere of Weeds, which attracted 1.26 million viewers at 10/9c.
On Sunday night, the Comedy Central Roast of David Hasselhoff grabbed a big 3.5 million viewers, a significant jump from the 2.8 million viewers that tuned in for the network's roast of Joan Rivers last year.
Also on Sunday, the season finales of The Next Food Network Star and Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami both earned healthy numbers. The Next Food Network Star drew 4.59 million viewers and ranked as the night's No. 1 show on cable. Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami reached an all-time series highs with 3.66 million viewers.
