Paranormal Activity 2 had no trouble scaring up an audience this weekend.
The follow-up to last year's hit horror flick took the top spot at the box office with $41.5 million, according to Box Office Mojo. Paranormal knocked last week's No. 1, Jackass 3-D, down a slot with $21.6 million.

The action flick Red, starring Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren, came in third in its second week, pulling in $15 million.
Clint Eastwood's Hereafter ($12 million), starring Matt Damon, and The Social Network ($7.3 million) were fourth and fifth, respectively.
Rounding out the top 10: Secretariat (No. 6, $6.9 million); Life As We Know It (No. 7, $6.15 million); Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (No. 8, $3.18 million); The Town (No. 9, $2.72 million) and Easy A (No. 10, $1.75 million).
