Sarah Jane Morris ,as the leader of the team tracking down the Port-to-Port killer Jonas Cobb, joined NCIS DVD Boxset for a recurring arc at the end of last season. She left her post at the end of the season, but will she be back?
Will EJ be back?
At the end of season 8, EJ stepped down from her position, but she did tell Tony she may be sticking around DC, leaving some to think that their relationship wasn't completely over. Well, it looks like she did stick around in DC—or is at least returning, as she's going to be in the season 9 of NCIS DVD premiere. Gary Glasberg told TVLine, "Sarah Jane Morris will be coming back, but what our NCIS Agents need from EJ might surprise everyone. People should expect the unexpected. A lot of questions will be answered in the first episode and there will be plenty of fun, intriguing story tidbits layered in that will resurface all season long." EJ has become one of the candidates on fans' suspect lists for the identity of the person in the photo the new SECNAV showed Tony, but is she the one selling top-secret information? Fans were left wondering just what was going on with her when she removed that microchip from Levin's arm in autopsy, seemingly looking like she knew it was there beforehand. Could that microchip hold information vital to helping Tony with his classified assignment?
However, there are plenty of possibilities for that photo, and since Glasberg did say that the reason she's back is surprising, it sounds like it's very possible she's not the one Tony has to take down using whatever means necessary. When she returns, will she and Tony still be involved? Will she be back for more after the season 9 premiere? When she first appeared in season 8 of NCIS DVD, fans who want to see Tony and Ziva together didn't like her, but she didn't turn out to be so bad. The cases come first, not any possible romances between agents, and if she wasn't a good agent, she never would have been appointed to lead her own team in Rota, Spain (no matter what her family connections). Right now what seems to be important is what she could be bringing to the team to help them with what they need, which most likely could be the identity of the person selling classified information. However, NCIS does like to tease its fans (when Kerr Smith was first cast, it sounded like he could be helping the team catch P2P, not turn out to be P2P—though it did make sense upon re-reading his character description). Who knows what could be coming up on NCIS with the mysterious identity of the agent selling top-secret information?
