Former "Golden Girls" star Rue McClanahan has died at age 76, after suffering from a second stroke.
"She passed away at 1 a.m. this morning. She had a massive stroke," her manager, Barbara Lawrence, told PEOPLE.com
The 76-year-old actress, best-known for her role as Blanche Devereaux on the hit series, had suffered a stroke in January, the result of a heart bypass operation last November. the stroke left her struggling to walk and talk.
McClanahan's death leaves only Betty White as the last surviving star of "Golden Girls," which ran from 1985 to 1992. Bea Arthur passed away last April and Estelle Getty died in 2008.The actress was married six times, leaving behind actor Morrow Wilson, to whom she was married for 12 years. She's also survived by a son from her first marriage.
