Jennifer Love Hewitt's Ghost Whisperer is gone for good - negotiations to save the cancelled TV show have fallen through.
The spooky CBS series became the latest victim of America's widespread TV cull when it was axed last week, but fans were hopeful it could be brought back from the dead after ABC bosses expressed an interest in continuing the program.
However, executive producers Kim Moses and Ian Sander have now confirmed attempts to negotiate a deal have failed.
A statement from the pair, obtained by Deadline.com, reads, "After five wonderful seasons and over 100 episodes, we are disappointed to announce Ghost Whisperer will not be returning for a sixth season. We've had an incredible experience and owe a debt of gratitude to everyone involved."
