NBC saved the critically acclaimed but ratings-challenged series from cancellation in 2008 when it struck a deal to air new episodes first on DirecTV. In 2009, NBC ordered two more seasons under the same arrangement.

AMC Picks Up Untitled Project From Cold Case Producer\

AMC has given a full series order for the untitled Veena Sud  pilot formerly called The Killing, the network announced Wednesday.

Based on a Danish TV series titled Forbrydelsen, the show centers on the investigation into a young girl's murder, as well as the politics connected to the case.
