Sex and the City star Chris Noth escaped unscathed after two photographers were involved in a traffic accident as they scrambled to take his picture.

The actor was walking through New York City on Friday when a pair of photographers approached him on bikes, but as they came to a halt in front of him, their vehicles collided.

Neither of the photographers were injured, and Noth managed to avoid being caught up in the crash.

A source tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "He was alone in dark sunglasses. Nobody bothered him until there was suddenly a huge fracas as two photographers screeched in on bikes and literally crashed into each other. But they were not hurt and immediately jumped up to take pictures of him. He played it cool."
