Names and TV shows that have won teens' votes for 2010 Teen Choice Awards are revealed. In the lead is "The Vampire Diaries" which gets seven nods including for the three lead cast, Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder. The blood-sucking show is bringing home Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy after beating "Lost", "Fringe" and two others.
Next in terms of number is "Gossip Girl" with its four victories including Choice Drama. Leighton Meester beats her co-star Blake Lively in the Choice TV Actress: Drama category while Chace Crawford beats Penn Badgley in the TV Actor category.
"Glee" manages to pocket three out of five nominations. Mike O'Malley and Chris Colfer who portray father and son in the successful FOX series take a prize each while the show itself wins Choice Comedy. In the Summer category, "Pretty Little Liars" does a sweep out through Lucy Hale and Ian Harding. The new show by ABC Family is picked as Choice TV Summer as well.
The 2010 Teen Choice Awards was held on Sunday, August 8 at Los Angeles' Universal Amphitheater and hosted by Katy Perry. FOX will air it on the next day at 8/7c. Surfboards are also handed out to those in music, movie, fashion and other categories.
