JMS had a clear and obvious place he wanted to take the story. And despite Warner's not doing their best to help out the show, a very low budget, and the almost cancelation at the end of Season 4, they managed to produce the first Sci-Fi show that relied heavily on CGI and managed to tell an actual story.

The 5 year story of Babylon 5 was the first attempt by anyone to believe an audience would watch and wait for the story to unfold. Those who were patient were well rewarded as this story is by far the best Sci Fi TV series ever written. Even by today's standards the special effects are very good. The writing is fantastic and the acting is first class. All other successful Sci Fi TV series have the crew of B5 to thank!

Babylon 5 is the best sci-fi show ever produced, and seasons 2/3/4 were the best of the best. But then came season 5 which feels like two different shows: both lousy and great. SEASON 5 FIRST HALF (LOUSY): Boring.Not interesting.Like a classic novel, Babylon 5 reaches beyond mere entertainment.

If you are a B-5 fan, then these movies are a need-to-view. Each one enhances the B-5 mythos in its own way. Don't hesitate to add to your B-5 collection. Worth watching again and again.

Babylon 5 is a great series. Definitely a must have for the die hard sci-fi fan. Although I am more of a Star Trek man myself I highly recommend Babylon 5 to anyone.The great thing about Babylon 5 is that is has a story arc that encompasses the entire series, unlike Star Trek TOS and TNG. Make sure you buy the Complete Movie set too.
