A&E has renewed The Glades for a second season, the network announced Monday.
The crime drama, starring Matt Passmore as a tough Chicago cop who transfers to Florida, has averaged 3.2 million viewers and 1.1 million in the adults 18-49 demographic since it's July premiere. Since then, the show has also become the channel's most-watched program.
"The Glades has garnered critical acclaim and a loyal audience in its first season," A&E president and general manager Bob DeBitetto said in a statement. "With superb writing and exceptional acting, led by a standout performance by Matt Passmore, we're pleased that the series has struck a chord with fans."
The Glades will return for 13 episodes in 2011.
